I am a Tucson native who wants to help support artists and events by giving them the chance to showcase their energy through my camera lens. Tucson's local scene is, whilst hidden, quite vibrant and unique. My goal is for others in Tucson and Arizona to realize that as well. I'm also getting tired of hearing "Tucson is so boring" when there are these really cool events that people can go to y'know?
Why Eyelie.MXF?
In film school we were taught that film, at the end of the day, is the illusion that what you're seeing is real.
So my goal with my photography is to make sure that people feel like they are at your show by just seeing a photo. They know you, how you perform, and how they feel when they are at your performance. However, all they're seeing is just a bunch of pixels.
So, their eyes are lying to them. Eye - lie.
... And the .MXF?
That's a file format for TV broadcast. I saw it at work and it stuck with me.
When did you start doing photography?
My photo journey started when I took a picture of a butterfly in 6th grade. This was only because a tour guide said no one can take a photo of a Blue Morpho with its wings open.
My picture of the Blue Morpho (take that tour guide)
My classmates didn't believe me for some reason.
Then, in high school I was procrastinating on an assignment that involved submitting work for a contest. I used this photo (from 6th grade) and turned it in for a photo contest.
I got second place. Shoutout 6th grade me.
How did you get into concert photography?
I started shooting at Groundworks for a social media strategy I had (I'm a digital strategist). Then I fell down the rabbit hole.
That's the basic run down. If I talk any further it will be a 2 hour story.
Thank you!
